Gili Tepekong Plateau

  • Dive Type: Reef, Photo, Shark, Turtles, Ambiance, Drift
  • Max Depth: 30m
  • Avg Depth: 15m
  • Visibility: 20+m usually
  • Level required: Open Water / CMAS*, some more experience beyond the course dives is preferred due to possible strong swell.
  • Description: Go down along the west side of the Tepekong island and enjoy the plateau that is under you from 10m down to about 20m and drift along with the current. Next to the mooring, there is a small cave where baby sharks can sometimes be found. It is around 13m deep. Go far southwards and you will find a tunnel from 19m going down to 27m giving onto the wall (careful of strong currents there). As long as the swell is small it is a magnificent dive site in terms of colour and abundance of healthy coral.

  • Advantages: Large animals! A beautiful ambiance for a dive you will remember.
  • Activities: Photo, Dive Training (esp. for drift), Orientation
  • Marine Life: A sailfish was spotted there! Whitetip reef sharks as well as some bumphead parrotfish, turtles, moray eels, scorpionfish, octopus, sweetlips, surgeons and all the usual reef fish
